History
Pastor Dilshad Alam is the founder of Trinity International Christian Church (formally known as Asian Church of Philadelphia). In 1997, with the Spiritual and financial support of five families and the blessings of Bishop Rehmat Daniel, the foundation was laid for Trinity International Christian Church. Meetings began in the basement of Mr. Naseer Mall’s house with roughly 15 people out of whom today many are serving in key roles in various ministries in Philadelphia.
Pastor Alam was a passionate, selfless minister who had a unique interactive way of conveying God’s word to people of all ages. He was acknowledged as a profound teacher of God’s Word, a man of prayer, and a visionary. His zeal was to disciple individuals so they can be engaged in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. His sacrificial, servant-hearted personality attracted many to him making it possible for him to share with all who crossed his path…the truth of Christ. The support of his wife, Elizabeth Alam, played a major role in the development of his ministry.
Pastor Alam was very enthusiastic about raising the youth to be followers of Christ. Even from his early age and post Theological Studies in Singapore, he worked with Campus Crusades (Pakistan) to develop awareness in the youth of the Love and Grace of Jesus Christ. Countless number of young people would be in and out of his house at all hours of the day for prayer, counseling and Bible studies. His father-like love for the flock of Christ attracted many people to the Lord. Everyone who was in his fellowship shared a personal and intimate friendship with him. Everyone felt that he was their personal Pastor.
His testimony and lifestyle spoke of his ministry above all. His teachings were completely drenched with two subjects, Forgiveness and Thanksgiving. Pastor Alam left a legacy for members of his congregation to strive and persevere through hard times always uplifting the name of Jesus in all that we do until our race on this earth is completed. His life was comforted through the words of David as he continually sang Psalm 99 1 The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; He sits enthroned between the cheribum, let the earth shake. 2 Great is the Lord in Zion; He is exalted all over the nations. Let them praise Your great and awesome name – He is Holy.
